Business Objects - Structuring reporting function

Hi,

I manage a team of reporting analysts who create content on our deployed Business Objects environment. These analysts all have premium named user licenses.

The CMC console functions can only be accessed by our technical team which reports to the IT part of business.

I was wondering what best practice is. Should the CMC access and function sit within the reporting team or, does it make sense to leave it in IT? For what reason should it be in IT if this is what you regard as best?

Thank you for your responses.

It's all based on internal process and policies. I have seen some organisations delegate the some process in lower environments to individual teams. e.g managing team folders, moving reports/universes between dev and UAT environments. Finally restricted access in Prod and only Admin team can move contents in prod and managing all activities in CMC.

You can explore delegate administration option to enable CMC activities according to your need and process.
