migrate database to new hardware

Dears,

it is a critical issue, kindly help

we want to move our business infrastructure environment to new hardware, what key consideration we should check about it, like system database? syslogins and sysusers tables, what ASE configurations related to hardware we should check, like processor, file descriptor, ...

we will take a dump from the current business database and load it in the target server, but for system databases like master we cannot take a dump, cause on the new server we have built database devices and they take different "vdevno" (in sysdevices) from the current devices, is this an issue? what are basic tables in master and other database we should move it manually maybe using bcp tool

is there issue related to license?

Regards

Hello Suzn,
The "migration" is a move of your current ASE to a new hardware right ? Is the OS still the same or is also changing ? If it is the same OS then you may use dump/load of users databases.
Regarding license, you'll have to generate a new one. You may refer to the answer provided here, as it is generic (not related with ASE version): https://answers.sap.com/questions/13685630/migrate-sybase-157-licence-to-new-serverhardware.html

Best regards,
Victoria.

Thanks for reply

If we want to migrate to our test environment, should we reset any counter or mda tables statistics , if so who to do that?

Also on our test enviroment, we have a warm standby replication, we should reset counters on Rep server, shouldn't we?

Kindly note that the hardware in test environment, is latest than our current, and OS is upgraded on test env
