"Catch a Mentor" Mission

To earn this Catch a Mentor badge (and 10 points), you'll need to:

1. 1. Take a Selfie with a SAP Mentor


2. 2. Post the Selfie

   • Tell us the Name of the mentor, SCN user, and where you caught the mentor

"Know a Mentor" Mission

To earn this Know a Mentor badge (and 15 more points), you'll need to:

1. 1. Prerequisite is the “Catch a Mentor” mission


2. 2. Start a conversation with a SAP Mentor


3. 3. Post a short blog about what you learned from the SAP Mentor in the SAP Mentor space


4. 4. Link to your blog in this document

Additional information for Online Mission:

• Period: year-round (**NEW**)


• Where can you catch mentors? At SAP events and other gatherings all over the world.
  


• All SCN Members (including SAP Mentors and SAP Employees) are eligible to participate the “Catch a Mentor” and “Know a Mentor” mission, and to earn the Badges and SCN points


• You need to fulfill the requirements listed above


• To receive your badges and points you need to upload the picture (or link to “know-a-mentor”) blog in the “comment-section”, connected with your full name, email, SCN User


• We will provide Badges and Points in Batches, at the End of each month.


• Although you're encouraged to do multiple selfies and blogs, you can only earn 1 of each badge


• All blogs will be approved to ensure quality

At SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando, we announced the beginning of open beta. Today, at SAP TechEd Las Vegas, we are announcing that the official transition from SCN to the community's new home will happen on October 10. Read more

I am happy to tell you that we are moving forward with “CatchaMentor” on the new platform. Nevertheless there is a cut on October 3^rd which is the LAST date to upload your picture as comment and to earn the mission.

During events, I am more of a picture taker and less of a selfie poser, but the dinner picture with tamas.szirtes3 proves I was hosting the May 2015 event (along with my expense report for the meal).  The other picture from the SAP Fiori cloud edition workshop in WDF shows a catchamentor bonanza not often seen other than at TechEd, with aviad.rivlin, tom.vandoorslaer2, tamas.szirtes3, and robert.eijpe (yes, they do own clothing other than mentor shirts).  I had the pleasure to meet each one of them again at TechEd last week, along with many other mentors I admire but never had the chance to shake their hand.

The blog post by Tom serves as my Know a Mentor badge efforts (Fiori Cloud Edition - How SAP leverages the ecosystem) because I couldn't think of a summary more reflective of our workshop that his summary.  I also had a short conversation with Tom last week and realize how much energy, commitment, and at times, the financial sacrifice that comes from the mentors to make an international trip like he did to participate in Vegas.  Perhaps something for the committee to consider would be subsidized travel that could be used in addition to the free event ticket.
