This year, SAP Bay Area decided to take a creative new approach to celebrate the holidays and build community. We are proud to designate December as a month of giving.
To channel the energy, enthusiasm, and generosity generated by the holidays, we created 3 programs that we hope will impact San Francisco Bay Area children and families in need.
With your help, we are investing in the following 3 areas:
SAP DONATES IN DECEMBER
Start early with your holiday giving (at the expense of SAP) by joining the “SAP Donates in December” campaign. All you have to do is vote!
SAP will donate $50,000 to these local non-profits that make the SF Bay Area a better place:
BUILD - in business to learn use entrepreneurship to excite and propel disengaged, low-income students through high school to college success.
KIPP - The Knowledge is Power Program is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public charter schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.
Mouse Squad - Empowering Youth to Learn, Lead and Create with Technology, offer programs that inspire STEM learning with 3D printing, technology design, physical computing and more
Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship - provide programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures.
Women’s Initiative for Self Employment - assist high-potential low-income women who dream of business ownership
How Can You Participate?
You, your friends, family and professional network are invited to vote for their non-profit of choice to receive the following donations (you DON’T have to work for SAP to vote😞
1st place - $30,000
2nd place - $10,000
3rd place - $4,000
4th place - $3,000
5th place - $3,000
This is a unique opportunity to support your favorite local non-profit organizations during the holidays.
Vote up to 5 times per day. That’s right – from now until December 13th, you can vote 5 times every single day.
Use your 5 votes for one organization or spread them evenly among all of them.

Holiday Boutique
Join us for our 3rd annual Holiday Boutique on the SAP Palo Alto Campus at 3420 Hillview Avenue in Café 3, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 4:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m.
We will host more than 15 local entrepreneurs and non-profits to sell their products, goods and wares. Stop by to get a head start on your holiday shopping with gifts that make a difference.
You will find these and many more items for purchase:
Toffee
Candles
Homemade soaps
Jewelry
Most of the business owners at the Holiday Boutique are graduates of the Women’s Initiative for Self Employment, one of SAP’s many charitable partners. Other local non-profits that will be present include organizations and schools that SAP supports as community partners.
Canned Food Drive
Finally, we have kicked-off our Canned Food Drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank and Children’s Emergency Food Bank. Collection bins for nutritious, non-perishable foods are available in the main lobbies of all SAP Bay Area buildings and we invite you to drop off some food to help those in need during the holidays. Our goal is to bring in one ton of food from December 2nd through December 13th.
A Big Thank You
Thank you to all of you who donate your time and money to charitable organizations all year long. You make the Bay Area a better and friendlier place.
Here at SAP, October was officially our “Month of Service”:
In the Bay Area alone, 1,167 SAP employees volunteered 5,867 hours of their time and impacted the lives of over 10,000 people.
We painted murals for hospitals, built playgrounds for schools, spruced up facilities in need and tended gardens that were in disrepair.
SAP Bay Area encompasses offices in San Francisco, South San Francisco, Dublin, Sunnyvale and Palo Alto, and represents over 3500 employees.

“SAP Donates in December” is a continuation of our efforts to give back to the community that we are a part of:
Please help this holiday season by supporting one or all of our 3 holiday campaigns and by activating your network to do the same (especially by voting). Thanks for getting engaged and spreading the word.
