During the week of festivities in India, we resumed the SAP community events in Gurgaon. SAP Stammtisch PLUS (+) event was held in SAP Labs India, Gurgaon campus on 28th October 2022.

Stammtisch is an informal group meeting held on a regular basis to exchange the thoughts and experiences from our SAP community. The event saw a diverse group of participation from Ernst & Young, Deloitte, IBM, TCS, Mawai Infotech Ltd. It was quite interesting to interact with SAP experts from various partner companies. In this event we also invited students from Delhi University.

The event was kick started by ahsan_2018 from SAP with short introduction of SAP Stammtisch, SAP Stammtisch PLUS and SAP Inside track. And from there we moved to the following technical sessions:

Session 1: Embedded Steampunk – The new SAP S/4HANA extensibility model for Cloud and OnPrem overview

Speaker: mohit.chopra

In the session, Mohit nicely explained the benefits and concepts behind SAP S/4HANA Cloud ABAP Environment (Embedded Steampunk) which is available for customers, both in the Cloud and OnPrem too! Community members got very excited to learn that this will radically change the way we develop extensions right now. Custom extensions developed with Embedded Steampunk now have the same properties that made Steampunk Cloud-ready and upgrade-stable. Indeed, the session was very interesting with amazing engagement from audience and all the queries were well handled by Mohit.

Session 2: Restful ABAP Programming Model Overview

Speaker: Jagmeet Singh

Taking the cue from first session we started with our second session on “Restful ABAP Programming Model Overview”, which is one of the core elements of ABAP Cloud development. The session was presented by Jagmeet Singh, who is currently working as a consultant in SAP India. In this session, he explained that how ABAP RESTful Programming Model has been an evolutionary successor of the ABAP Programming Model. Furthermore, he also told that how it enables the efficient and standardized development of web-based applications and Web APIs.

The event was ended with positive affirmations from all the community members that they will be instrumental in letting people know about this and upcoming events too. They also shared that such events help in building the network with experts.

On behalf of organizing team, I would like to thank all the speakers for their insightful sessions. A special thanks to all the participants also for not only joining the event in person but also for providing the list of topics (RISE with SAP, AI/ML, Robotics, BTP, Event Driven Architecture, Workflow Management and many more) which they wish to see in the upcoming events.

We hope to see all of you in the upcoming events along with new participants! Feel free to share your feedback and thoughts in the comment section below.
