Description

 

Under general supervision of the Supervisor, Business Systems Support provides support of automated solutions for SAP and associated business processes. Serves as the critical link between the user department and IT staff – ensuring user requirements are understood, communicated, and acted upon appropriately. Support provided includes serving as a journeyman-level knowledge resource for system end-users; monitoring system operations and performance; troubleshooting system problems; and identifying, designing, and implementing resolutions to system problems and enhancements.

 

 

Examples of Duties

This is a Hybrid position with up to 2 days of telework after 90 days of employment.

Provides mid-level production and system maintenance support of automated solutions, as described below:

  • Production Support
    1. Serves as a journeyman-level system and process knowledge resource.
    2. Monitors and analyzes business operations and system performance.
    3. Identifies, analyzes, and defines system and process problems, documenting the requirements of all involved groups.
    4. Develops a course of action to resolve problems, working closely with other IT staff, user departments, and product vendors, as needed.
    5. Recommends and implements problem resolutions, whether a system change request, software upgrade request, business work-around, or business process change.
    6. Assesses the impact of problems and their resolution and recommends an appropriate priority.
    7. Notifies end users of system problems and changes.
    8. Works on special projects, as assigned.
  • System Maintenance
    1. Keeps up-to-date on system features and upgrades.
    2. Assists in short- and long-term technology planning and in assessing the impact of technology upgrades.
    3. Evaluates and recommends system enhancements.
    4. Develops functional specifications for system enhancements and modifications.
    5. Designs processes, reports, forms, and system features, obtaining the appropriate approvals from the management of affected departments.
    6. Implements and maintains system configuration to support functional designs.
    7. Plans, schedules, and monitors the development and testing of software modifications/ changes, adjusting work to achieve desired outcomes.
    8. Maintains system support documentation.
    9. Performs unit testing on configuration work.
      1. Plans and performs integration and regression testing for system changes.
      2. Creates and maintains test and training data.
      3. Develops briefings and other documentation, as appropriate, for system changes.
    10. Oversees systems development activities by:
      1. Serving as a Team Lead on large, complex projects.
      2. Performing as a Project Manager on small projects.
      3. Providing training, guidance, and assistance to less experienced Business Analysts.
      • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

 

Typical Qualifications

 

  • Possession of an associate degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related field, and four (4) years of analysis experience in a complex information systems environment or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and knowledge.
  • Minimum of six years of hands-on experience working with SAP ERP
  • Experience IS-U related functions and related systems- Customer Care & Service (CCS), Financial & Contract Account (FI-CA), Device management, SAP Rates and Invoicing
  • Experience with C4C (V1) and/or S/4HANA 2022 preferred.
  • Experience with requirements, elicitation, analysis, and documentation
  • Experience with business analysis, quality assurance, and workflow tools and/or practices
  • Experience with business case development and presentation
  • Experience in providing technology solution assessment and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in projects/assignments with varying levels of complexity.
  • Possess the skills to initiate, evaluate, develop, and influence users on adoption of solid, actionable recommendations.
  • Experienced in leading, designing, and facilitating multiples concurrent projects and delivering effective presentations that are valued by customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must pass a controlled substance (drug) test for employment.
