SuccessFactors Succession Planning: Major releases for 2H 2023

The 2H 2023 release is here!

A new set of enhancements has been released in the 2H 2023 release that has been eagerly awaited. The SAP SuccessFactors H2 2023 Release includes some key features and enhancements, so let’s take a closer look!

1- Emergency Covers for a Position or Talent Pool:

Administrators can now label nominees as emergency covers for a position or talent pool. When an emergency occurs, an emergency cover can temporarily take over a position or fill the role defined by a talent pool.

The Emergency Cover field appears when the succession planner adds or edits a nomination on a position card, or when the succession planner adds or edits a nomination in the talent pool.

Configuration Requirement:

• Go to Admin Center>Nominations Setup


• Select Allow labeling nominees as Emergency Cover


• Save your change

2- Search for Talents by Skills from Talent Intelligence Hub:

Users can now search for skills in Talent Search in addition to competencies. A preconfigured rating scale from Talent Intelligence Hub determines the skill or competency ratings that users can select.

• You've migrated to Talent Intelligence Hub.


• Show attributes is selected under the Talent Selected Setting


• Users have permission for the Attribute field under User Permissions>Talent Search Field>Ratings
